Problem

When the first wave of COVID struck Sydney, the new owner of The Preview faced a situation more difficult than most in hospitality. The café was not only having trade restricted, but she had only purchased the business 6 months earlier and failed to satisfy the initial decline in revenue tests for JobKeeper.

Solution

Being Tim’s local café, he sought to help her pro bono. At this time, the JobKeeper legislation was continuously evolving. By reviewing to the actual legislation, Tim identified the Alternative Tests for recently purchased businesses before it was updated on the ATO’s website. This enabled Lulu to do submit a claim for JobKeeper, that was successful.

Results
